Is this safe for my skin tone?

Yes. HydraFacial and microneedling are two of the better-tolerated treatments for Fitzpatrick III–VI skin when the protocol is matched to your type. HydraFacial uses suction and hydration rather than heat or strong acids. Microneedling is calibrated by needle depth and interval. Both are physician-led at Kintsu, and your first visit includes a complimentary consultation to confirm the right starting point.

Will microneedling cause dark spots?

It shouldn't when needle depth is set to your Fitzpatrick type and the interval between sessions is respected. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is the real risk in deeper skin, which is exactly why we start conservative, watch how your skin responds, and only advance when it's earned. A provider who treats your skin type every day is the safeguard here — not a stronger setting.

What does “calibrated for skin of color” actually mean?

It means settings, depth, and product strength are chosen for Fitzpatrick III–VI skin instead of borrowed from a fair-skin protocol.
